Welcome to Abdulrahman Kanoo International School, Diyar. It is an honour to introduce myself as the Head of Secondary School of this vibrant and growing learning community. With a Master in Education and 23 years of experience in educational leadership and management, my professional journey has been dedicated to creating safe, engaging, and inclusive school environments where every child can flourish. Over the years, this has included working closely with students, parents, and staff to support academic excellence, personal growth, and strong home–school partnerships.
Our school stands on the inspiring legacy of our late founder, Mr. Abdulrahman Jassim Kanoo, whose vision was to make high-quality education accessible to all children in the Kingdom of Bahrain. His commitment to nurturing conscientious, open-minded, and well- rounded young people continues to guide the values and direction of our school today.
As Head of Secondary School, my aim is to ensure that every student is known, valued, and supported, both academically and emotionally. Together with our dedicated staff, I strive to promote a culture of respect, kindness, integrity, and excellence, where students are encouraged to think critically, act responsibly, and develop a genuine love of learning.
Our vision at Abdulrahman Kanoo International School, Diyar, is to empower students to become successful, principled citizens who can contribute positively to both their local and global communities. In partnership with parents, we seek to provide a nurturing environment that balances strong academic standards with character development, creativity, and service to others. Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9)
As ARKS continues its natural year-by-year expansion, we ensure a seamless and robust academic pathway that prepares our secondary students for global success.
Key Stage 3 bridges the gap between Primary and Senior schooling. The curriculum here maintains the familiar, supportive, and broad-based structure of the Primary years, preserving a wide variety of subjects to keep learning holistic, while steadily elevating academic challenge.
The Key Stage 3 Curriculum Pillars:
A Broad & Balanced Foundation: Students continue to build mastery in core areas including English, Mathematics, Global Skills, Art alongside physical education and dedicated wellbeing sessions.
Multilingual Mastery: Continued development in English, advanced Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Mandarin, ensuring our students remain culturally grounded and globally competitive.
The Year 9 Science Transition: While Years 7 and 8 study a unified General Science curriculum, Year 9 introduces dedicated preparation in separate science streams: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This crucial step demystifies advanced scientific concepts early and serves as a powerful bridge to senior studies.
Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11)
In Key Stage 4, students embark on their formal international examination pathways. This stage is designed to offer a highly personalized educational experience. By balancing a rigorous academic core with a vibrant, diverse suite of elective options, we ensure students can tailor their studies to their unique strengths, passions, and future university ambitions.
The Senior Curriculum Structure
1. The Core Academic Foundations (Compulsory for All): To ensure well-rounded development, all students maintain a robust foundation in key academic disciplines, including a continuation of our signature interdisciplinary training:
