In alignment with ARKS’s mission to foster holistic development and promote a culture of care, compassion, and community, we proudly celebrated World Diabetes Day. This global observance served as an opportunity to raise awareness about diabetes, its impact on health, and the importance of prevention, early detection, and healthy lifestyle choices.
This year, 2024, the World Diabetes Day theme is “Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps.” The theme highlights the impact of diabetes on people’s physical and mental health. It also emphasizes the importance of effective diabetes management and how it can improve people’s quality of life. The theme is also intent to educate people and appeals to encourage them to urge their public healthcare institutions and other global institutions to facilitate better opportunity, infrastructure, manpower, and financial support to enhance diabetes education to achieve the combined effort of WHO and other organizations to accomplish the diabetes coverage target by 2030.
As part of the celebration, both students and staff were encouraged to wear blue, symbolizing support for diabetes awareness. This simple yet powerful gesture helped unite our school community in a shared commitment to learning more about this important health issue and advocating for those affected by diabetes.
